Registration for the 2026 Customs Comptroller Competitions

French Customs recruits inspectors in the so-called specialist sectors

These are jobs for mechanics, pilots (airplane or helicopter) or computer scientists.

As a result of recasting work, these competitions may have been modified or adapted in their course or admission conditions. Candidates are therefore invited to carefully look at the modalities of access and organization of the tests for the 2020 / 2021 session. 

These new provisions were the subject of decrees published in JORF No. 0289 of November 29, 2020.

The competitions concerned are:

Controller of the surveillance branch in the naval maintenance specialty

Customs and indirect duties inspectors working in the naval maintenance specialty belong to category B of the State civil service and come under the surveillance branch. They are responsible for the maintenance and general maintenance of Customs’ maritime assets.

Controller of the surveillance branch in the aeronautical specialty (airplane and helicopter pilot)

Pilots participate in maritime or land surveillance missions of Customs and other State and European services (as part of Frontex missions). Airplane or helicopter pilots are assigned to one of the 5 air bases grouped within one of the three Customs Coast Guard services that report to the National Customs Coast Guard Directorate. The three coastguard services correspond to three maritime facades: Antilles-Guyana, Atlantic-Channel-North Sea and Mediterranean.

Operating System Programmer Controller

As a controller-programmer, you will be responsible for the development and management of applications. As such, you will use the methods, languages and technologies chosen to allow the optimal functioning of the information system of the Directorate General of Customs and Indirect Duties (DGDDI). You will also provide general monitoring of the information system, define backups and participate in the application of security instructions. You will also be able to carry out missions of assistance to users of the online services and the multiple online services offered by the DGDDI.
